Variable speed drive systems
Variable speed drives, motor control centres and complete drive houses, engineered with the motor and tested together before they leave Jebel Ali.
Overview
Most of the energy a motor saves comes from running it at the speed the process needs, not full speed with a valve or damper throttling it back. Our drive systems pair low and medium voltage variable speed drives with Norvik motors, and the controls to run them.
For larger projects we build the whole electrical package: drives, transformers, motor control centre, harmonic filters and cooling, in a steel drive house or on a skid. It’s wired, programmed and run with the motors on our 6 MW test bay, so the site team connects power and signals and starts up.
Each system is designed to the supply it connects to. Harmonic studies to IEEE 519 and the local utility’s requirements are included for every system above 250 kW.

Request a quoteDocuments on request
Every document is issued by an application engineer for your exact motor, so it’s sent on request rather than downloaded. Ask in your quote request or email sales@norvikdrives.ae and you’ll have it within one working day.
-

Questions about drive systems
Can you add a drive to a motor that’s already installed?
Usually, yes. Older motors may need insulated bearings or a sine filter to cope with drive voltages; we check the nameplate and cable length first and tell you what’s needed.
Who commissions the system on site?
Our own commissioning engineers, from the nearest service centre. A typical drive house is energised and running within five days of arriving on site.
Can the drives talk to our control system?
Yes. We support Profinet, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP as standard and test the interface with your PLC programme or a simulator before shipping.
Send us the duty
Power, speed, voltage and the load it drives. An application engineer replies within one working day with a selection and a price.
