Remodelling

Heirloom

Bring us a piece that matters. We reset family stones into something you’ll wear every day, and keep the story intact.

An antique gold ring with an old-mine cut diamond in a worn velvet ring box

The collection

Most heirloom work starts with a ring that sits in a drawer: a stone that was loved, in a setting that no longer suits. We lift the stone out, check it under the loupe, and design a new home for it in recycled gold, or in the family’s own gold where there is enough of it.

Questions about heirloom

Is my stone safe with you?

Your stones are photographed, weighed and logged when they arrive, kept in the atelier safe overnight, and never leave the building. You’ll get a written receipt with the photographs.

Can you use the gold from the old ring?

Often, yes. With 6 g or more we can melt and cast it separately for your piece. Otherwise we refine it and credit its value against the new gold.

What if the stone is damaged?

We check every stone under the loupe before quoting. Chips can sometimes be hidden by the new setting or polished out by a cutter; we’ll explain the options and the cost before anything is done.
